We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Service Representative, you will provide telephone support to patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy, ensuring their medication orders are processed efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with insurance companies, patients, and internal partners to resolve complex issues and ensure financial and clinical expectations are met prior to fulfillment.
- *Responsibilities**
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy over the phone
- Coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, including verifying and revivifying benefits
- Translate and enter new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system
- Communicate and collect copay amounts from patients
- Obtain authorizations from insurance companies and healthcare providers
- Work with internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues
- Demonstrate superb communication skills to effectively interact with insurance companies, patients, and internal partners
- Meet productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced environment
- *Requirements**
- One year of experience in a customer service role handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone
- One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
- One year of computer keyboarding experience, skills, and aptitude
- Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Pre-existing healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology
- Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- *Training and Development**
- 4-week training program with a PTO blackout period
- Training schedules: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST
- Post-training schedule: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM PST
