What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our AI research and product development. This role offers the exciting opportunity to work closely with the researchers behind groundbreaking AI innovations and contribute to training new models that will be delivered to customers worldwide. Here's what your day-to-day responsibilities will look like:

• Design and Build Data Pipelines: Create, configure, and manage our data pipelines to ensure all customer event data is seamlessly integrated into our data warehouse. You'll architect solutions that can handle massive volumes of data with reliability and efficiency.
• Develop Authorized Datasets: Build and maintain canonical datasets that track key product metrics including customer growth, engagement, revenue, and other critical business indicators. Your datasets will inform strategic decisions across the organization.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work cooperatively with various departments including Infrastructure, Data Science, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Research to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions that empower their work.
• Implement Robust Systems: Design and implement fault-tolerant systems for data ingestion and processing. You'll ensure our data infrastructure can handle failures gracefully while maintaining data integrity and availability.
• Drive Technical Decisions: Participate in data architecture and engineering decisions, bringing strong analytical thinking and innovative solutions to complex data challenges.
• Ensure Data Quality and Compliance: Maintain the security, integrity, and compliance of data in accordance with industry best practices and company standards. You'll be the guardian of data quality across the organization.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• Programming Expertise: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in Data Engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java. You should be comfortable writing, debugging, and optimizing code.
• Distributed Processing Experience: Hands-on experience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Flink, or similar systems. Familiarity with distributed storage systems like HDFS and S3 is essential.
• ETL and Data Pipeline Tools: Working knowledge of ETL schedulers such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar frameworks for orchestrating complex data workflows.
• Database and Query Languages: Strong understanding of SQL and the ability to write, debug, and optimize queries for large-scale data operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience working with real-time data processing frameworks and streaming architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and their data services.
