Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our data engineering team on a full-time basis. This position offers flexibility with both night and day shifts available, with the option to work remotely. As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for accurately building, updating, and maintaining robust data infrastructure and pipelines that support our advertising platform. You will collaborate with various teams across the organization to ensure data quality, accessibility, and reliability for analysis and reporting.

Essential Qualifications:

• Data Engineering Expertise: Demonstrated aptitude in data engineering concepts, database design, ETL processes, and data mining. You should have a solid understanding of data pipeline architecture and best practices for handling large-scale data operations.


• Programming Proficiency: Strong capability in working with data technologies including SQL, Python, Flash, Scala, Hadoop, and related technologies and tools. Experience with at least one scripting language is required.


• ETL Tools Experience: Experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow or similar platforms. You should be comfortable designing and implementing data transformation workflows.


• Database Knowledge: Strong skills working with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft Azure SQL) and NoSQL databases (such as Cassandra). Understanding of database optimization and performance tuning is essential.


• Stream Processing: Experience with real-time text processing using Apache Kafka or similar streaming platforms.


• Data Modeling: Experience in designing and implementing data models for efficient storage and retrieval. You should be able to create logical and physical data models that support business requirements.


• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing services including Google GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and Microsoft Azure, as well as distributed storage systems like Hive.


• Containerization: Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes is a strong plus.


• Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences. You should be comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.

• Advanced experience with distributed computing frameworks

• Create and deploy large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in public clouds like Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. You'll implement modern DevOps practices for data engineering.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including other scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner Operations. You'll work alongside diverse stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.


• Participate in on-call rotations to investigate production issues across cross-functional teams. You'll help ensure system reliability and quick resolution of incidents.


• Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for improving existing processes, tools, and systems to achieve high scale and productivity. A growth-oriented mindset is essential for success in this role.


• Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing robust data validation and monitoring mechanisms. You'll work to maintain the highest standards of data integrity.
