- *Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you'll assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, perform various pharmacy operations, and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national and federal regulations
- Perform various pharmacy operations, including: + Using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions+ Filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets+ Verifying medication accuracy and checking for potential interactions+ Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
- Provide exceptional customer service, including: + Greeting customers and assisting with services and products+ Resolving customer issues and answering inquiries+ Modeling and sharing customer service best practices with team members
- Develop strong relationships with valuable customers
- Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including: + Utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records+ Ensuring information is entered efficiently+ Registering all related income on assigned cash register+ Collecting and handling coins as required+ Taking customers to OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise
- Handle telephone calls that don't require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
- Method (corrects and resubmits) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform other clerical responsibilities, as assigned by the store manager
- Assist and support Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of prescription drugs
- Maintain knowledge of company asset safety procedures and document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order mistakes, or broken goods related to Rx capsules
- *Education & Personal Development**
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the arenaflex training program and/or state required certification/registration
- Attend training and complete PPLs as requested by manager and acquire continuing education credit
- Maintain expertise and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments
- Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE)
- *Basic Qualifications**
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Choose to have six months of experience in retail settings
- Choose to have previous work experience with arenaflex
- Choose to have desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines
- Choose to have correct computer skills
- Choose to have knowledge of store inventory management
- Prefer PTCB certification
