**Experienced Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist - Remote 2nd Shift Opportunity**

- *Overview and Responsibilities**
We are looking for a customer-focused individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional support to our patients and customers. As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing accurate and timely information to ensure a positive experience. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and fax communication
- Collecting co-pays and deductible amounts, conducting insurance verification and eligibility for services/products
- Conducting patient satisfaction calls and acting as a patient advocate to resolve questions or concerns
- Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
- Maintaining accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
- Managing all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and processing paperwork
- Obtaining authorization and qualification documentation
- Preparing complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
- Processing new orders, responding to questions, resolving issues, or forwarding to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction
- Providing product/service information and education by answering questions and offering assistance
- Working extensively with eIntake proprietary system
- Performing other duties as assigned
- *Qualifications and Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
- Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
- Strong customer service background
- Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail
- Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
- Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- *Physical Demands and Work Environment**
This role requires:
- Lifting of 10lbs
- Sitting, walking, standing, talking, or listening for extensive hours
- Close vision to small print on computer and/or paperwork
- Extensive hours working on the computer
