We're seeking a talented and detail-oriented CCS Conversion Designer to join our team for a long-term enterprise system transformation project. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the future of utility customer service operations while working with cutting-edge Oracle Utilities technology.
Position Overview
As a CCS Conversion Designer at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in designing and executing data migration strategies for our client's transition to Oracle Utilities Customer Care & Services (CCS). This hybrid position requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and collaborative skills to ensure successful data transformation from legacy systems to the new CCS platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Conversion Strategy Design: Develop comprehensive data conversion strategies for migrating legacy system data into the CCS platform. Create detailed plans that address data quality, mapping requirements, and transformation logic.
- Mapping Logic Development: Design and document detailed mapping logic and technical specifications based on system requirements, business rules, and data governance standards. Ensure all mapping documents are clear, accurate, and maintainable.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, software developers, business subject matter experts (SMEs), and quality assurance teams to ensure clean, accurate data transformation throughout the conversion process.
- Requirements Validation: Review and validate conversion requirements to ensure data integrity, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation including conversion rules, test plans, validation scripts, and user guides. Maintain thorough documentation for knowledge transfer and future reference.
- Testing & Validation: Participate in conversion mock runs, integration testing, and go-live activities. Execute validation procedures to ensure successful data migration and system functionality.
- Issue Resolution: Analyze and resolve data issues arising during testing, validation, or post-load activities. Troubleshoot complex data discrepancies and implement effective solutions.
- Project Coordination: Contribute to conversion planning, scheduling, and resource coordination. Assist in estimating effort, timelines, and dependencies for conversion activities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in data conversion, system integration, or related technical roles, preferably within public utilities or large enterprise environments.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Customer Care & Services (CCS) systems or other utility customer information systems (CIS). Familiarity with utility billing, customer service, and metering operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data mapping, transformation logic, and conversion testing practices. Experience with ETL processes and data validation techniques.
- Platform Experience: Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle Utilities, or other CIS platforms. Experience with Oracle CC&B (Customer Care & Billing) or SAP IS-U is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple competing priorities.
- Location Requirement: Must be available to work onsite in San Antonio, TX three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with SAP IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities) or Oracle CC&B (Customer Care & Billing) platforms.
- Prior involvement in utility billing, metering, or customer service data conversion projects.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database query development.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or similar platforms.
- Experience with conversion accelerators or automated conversion tools.
- Understanding of utility industry regulations and data standards.
- Project management experience or certification (PMP, CSM) is a plus.
