Our apprenticeship program guides you through every step of becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified Pharmacy Technician. You'll receive:

Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you'll play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring excellent patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Pharmacy Operations Support: Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policies. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you'll help maintain the efficiency and accuracy of our pharmacy department.
- Prescription Processing: Use our advanced pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions accurately, and ensure all data is entered correctly. This includes retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for potential drug interactions.
- Customer Experience Delivery: Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience by greeting patients, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues professionally. You'll develop strong relationships with our most valuable customers and ensure every interaction leaves a positive impression.
- Quality Assurance: Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately and adhere to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs. Strictly comply with all policies regarding good faith dispensing.
- Financial Handling: Register all related income on assigned cash registers, collect and handle cash as required, and assist customers in locating over-the-counter products.
- Insurance Claims Processing: Correctly process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
- Inventory Management: Support pharmacy department stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing prescription drug shipments. Maintain knowledge of company asset protection procedures and document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.
- Clinical Support: Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients. Support pharmacy staff in coordinating clinical services, healthcare clinics, and external vendors.
- Community Relationships: Assist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through medical provider detailing and outreach to health agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums.
- Facility Maintenance: Assist with indoor and outdoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with adequate supplies and maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.
- Continuous Learning: Complete all required training, professional development modules, and continuing education credits as requested by your manager.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed as a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you must meet the following requirements:
- Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Educational Commitment: Willingness to earn and maintain PTCB certification through the arenaflex training program and/or state-required certification/registration.
- Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers and patients warmly and provide exceptional service.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to accuracy in prescription processing and data entry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members.
- Adaptability: Willingness to handle diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will help you excel in this role:
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment.
- Previous work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
- Strong math skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Proficient computer skills for pharmacy system operation.
- Knowledge of store inventory control procedures.
- PTCB certification (or eligibility to obtain certification).
