What You'll Do
As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Review Team and ensuring excellent service delivery to both beneficiaries and providers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for typing, merging, proofreading for clarity, printing, and mailing correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with external customers to furnish and request review information.
- Foster effective working relationships between arenaflex's internal and external customers through exceptional service delivery.
- Assist with and participate in team initiatives to identify areas for potential improvement as noted on case reviews and process evaluations.
- Answer the Beneficiary Helpline through the utilization of the hunt group and available light functions, determining the best way to assist each caller either through services offered by arenaflex or by referring them to external agencies.
- Properly enter all referrals into the CMS system with accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure all letters are sent out in a timely manner with correct components included and thoroughly reviewed for grammatical and spacing errors.
- Obtain and validate notices and all components of medical records with precision and attention to detail.
- Provide intake for all appeals received by arenaflex, handling each case with care and professionalism.
- Maintain proficiency in customer service guidelines and standards, consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
- Utilize internal quality control tools to assess individual work and team processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- This position requires a great deal of decision-making regarding various types of complex appeals, demonstrating your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Post-high school business courses are helpful but not required.
- Medical terminology knowledge is desired but we provide training for the right candidate.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a courteous and patient demeanor.
- Must be customer-oriented and have the ability to maintain composure under potentially stressful situations.
- Strong grammar, punctuation, spelling, hyphenation, and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented, and capable of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
- Must be flexible and able to work as a team member while supporting team decisions.
- General knowledge of PC-based computer systems and familiarity with various software packages with the ability to learn additional software packages as needed.
- Must be able to multi-task effectively and prioritize assignments based on urgency and importance.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience:
- Two to three years of clerical experience including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service responsibilities.
- Prior work in a healthcare setting or medical terminology background is highly recommended.
- Previous data entry or other clerical experience is a plus.
