Role Overview
The Security Analyst for Data Protection is a critical position within our information security architecture. You'll be responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing our data loss prevention (DLP) infrastructure while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and communication skills, as you'll work closely with various business units to understand their data handling processes and provide actionable security recommendations.
You'll be instrumental in identifying sensitive data across our enterprise, developing and enforcing data protection policies, and responding to potential security incidents. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of arenaflex's most critical information assets.
Key Responsibilities
As a Security Analyst for Data Protection at arenaflex, your daily responsibilities will span a wide range of technical and collaborative activities. Here's what you can expect:
- Manage and optimize information security tools including the installation, configuration, analysis, testing, and reporting of data protection solutions to ensure comprehensive security coverage across all data states—in motion, at rest, and in use.
- Monitor and respond to data loss prevention alerts within established SLAs, conducting thorough investigations to differentiate between genuine threats and false positives, and implementing appropriate remediation actions when necessary.
- Maintain and execute data protection software upgrade schedules to ensure our technical solutions remain current, effective, and aligned with emerging threat vectors and business requirements.
- Resolve data loss alerts with precision by implementing remediation procedures, establishing defensive controls, and documenting resolution steps to prevent recurrence and improve overall security posture.
- Test and tune data identification solutions to minimize false positives and negatives, continuously improving the accuracy and efficiency of our DLP infrastructure.
- Develop comprehensive guides and documentation to explore, test, and implement new features within our data protection toolsets, ensuring seamless integration and maximum value extraction from our technology investments.
- Create and refine data protection policies using advanced techniques including regex patterns, artificial intelligence, fingerprinting, and dictionary-based analysis to monitor unique and emerging data types.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to document existing processes that handle sensitive information, providing best practice recommendations and guidance on secure data handling procedures.
- Validate and enhance existing business processes to ensure they meet data security best practices, conducting regular audits and proposing security upgrades to minimize organizational risk.
- Partner with business units to conduct discovery scans to identify and classify sensitive data, reviewing scan results with data owners and providing expert guidance on secure storage solutions.
- Review and assess network architecture, engineering practices, and security policies to evaluate overall deployment against industry best practices, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
- Evaluate, prototype, and implement new data protection solutions in alignment with cloud infrastructure requirements, operationalizing these solutions to deliver measurable business value.
- Implement defensive controls in cloud environments including AWS and other platforms to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data assets across distributed infrastructure.
- Communicate complex data security concepts effectively to non-technical business leaders, translating technical findings into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.
- Participate in incident response activities as needed, supporting investigations and contributing to the development of containment and recovery strategies.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends through continuous learning and professional development, applying new knowledge to enhance our security program.

To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid foundation in data protection technologies and a proven track record of implementing effective security controls. Here are the qualifications we're looking for:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies, with a deep understanding of how data in motion, data at rest, and data in use are monitored, protected, and secured.
- Strong technical knowledge of security frameworks, system configurations, guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to data security, including industry best practices and standards.
- Proven experience designing and automating data security policies for cloud environments, with specific expertise in AWS cloud security architecture and deployment.
- Familiarity with both structured and unstructured data concepts, as well as practical experience working with Information Loss Prevention (ILP) solutions in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience managing Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solutions and data classification solutions to ensure comprehensive visibility and control over cloud-based data.
- Experience with endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune for implementing data protection controls on managed devices.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks including PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure organizational compliance.
- Innovative and adaptable mindset with a strong client-oriented approach and an unwavering commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of individuals, organizational assets, and personal data.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams, embrace different perspectives, and foster an inclusive environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
