What You'll Do: Senior Data Scientist Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist on our Enterprise Digital Analytics team, you'll apply advanced analytics, experimentation, causal inference, and strategic problem-solving to grow digitally enabled products at arenaflex. Your work will directly impact how millions of consumers experience healthcare and retail services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Machine Learning Model Development: Build and deploy predictive models using modern AI techniques for both classification and regression problems. You'll create algorithms and statistical predictive models that drive business decisions.


• Advanced Data Analysis: Analyze structured and unstructured data to solve complex business issues using advanced statistical techniques, mathematical analysis, and deep industry knowledge.


• Collaborative Solution Design: Partner closely with colleagues across departments to understand their challenges and develop tailored analytical solutions that address real business needs.


• Customer Journey Optimization: Analyze customer journeys to identify opportunities that drive increased adoption, engagement, retention, and conversion throughout the consumer experience.


• Personalization Engineering: Develop personalization capabilities using artificial intelligence to target specific audiences for relevant, timely outreach that resonates with individual needs.


• Experimental Design and Testing: Design, execute, and optimize online experiments (A/B testing) and measure their impact on business outcomes.


• Causal Inference and Modeling: Apply sophisticated methodologies like causal inference and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) to optimize tests where traditional A/B testing isn't feasible or appropriate.


• Insight Communication: Prepare data for analysis, work with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, evaluate data quality, and perform feature engineering that powers our predictive capabilities.


• Stakeholder Presentation: Create and deliver presentations to existing and prospective constituents on analysis results and recommended solutions, translating complex findings into actionable business insights.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate complex information related to your area of specialization with internal and external partners and leadership to drive alignment and decision-making.

What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications

We're seeking a candidate with a proven track record of applying data science techniques to real-world business challenges. The ideal candidate will combine technical excellence with the ability to translate analytical insights into business impact.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience applying modern machine learning techniques to build predictive models for both classification and regression problems.


• Technical Proficiency: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and SQL, demonstrating the ability to manipulate, analyze, and derive insights from complex datasets.


• Business Communication: 2+ years of experience extracting meaningful insights from analysis and interpreting results of complex models to present to business audiences—including technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and senior leadership.


• Data Preparation: 2+ years of experience preparing data for analysis, collaborating with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, assessing data satisfaction and quality, and performing feature engineering.


• Advanced Analytics Tools: 2+ years of experience applying knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large datasets from various data sources.


• Experimental Design: 2+ years of experience in experiment design and managed/solo machine learning approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing online A/B testing experiments at scale.


• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and recommendations effectively to diverse audiences.

• Proficiency across multiple areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analysis, experimental design, and predictive modeling, with deep specialization in certain areas.

Education Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.


• PhD in a related discipline is highly desirable.

Work Environment and Culture

This position follows a hybrid work plan, based in our New York City office. You'll be expected to commute to the New York City office 3 days per week on a consistent alternating schedule, allowing for a healthy balance between collaborative in-office work and remote flexibility.

Compensation and Benefits

We recognize that top talent deserves competitive compensation. The ordinary salary range for this Senior Data Scientist position is $106,605.00 - $206,000.00 per year. The actual base compensation will depend on factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.
