Role Description

Warrior Group is expanding its work within the fashion and apparel industry and we’re seeking a seasoned Fractional CFO with direct experience operating inside this space.

This is not a generalist CFO role.

    We’re specifically looking for someone who has worked with fashion and apparel brands dealing with:
  • Seasonal inventory buys
  • SKU complexity
  • Wholesale + DTC channel management
  • Retail/eCommerce growth
  • Production timelines
  • Margin pressure
  • Working capital constraints
  • Inventory forecasting challenges
  • Marketing spend efficiency
  • Cash tied up in inventory

You understand the financial realities of apparel businesses where one poor inventory decision, delayed production run, or weak forecasting model can create major cash flow problems.

This role is ideal for a strategic finance leader who can operate at a Managing Director level—owning client relationships, advising founders, and building financial infrastructure that helps brands scale.

    In This Role, You Will:
  • Lead financial strategy for fashion and apparel brands
  • Build inventory forecasting models tied to seasonal purchasing cycles
  • Improve gross margin visibility across products, categories, and collections
  • Help brands manage open-to-buy planning and inventory turnover
  • Oversee cash flow planning during production, fulfillment, and seasonal demand swings
  • Create budgeting models tied to marketing spend, product launches, and growth initiatives
  • Advise founders on pricing strategy, profitability, and operational efficiency
  • Support debt raises, equity raises, and investor reporting
  • Analyze wholesale, DTC, retail, and marketplace channel profitability
  • Partner with founders, operators, merchandising teams, and creative leadership

Must-Have Industry Experience

Direct experience working in fashion and apparel brands

    Experience with brands selling through:
  • Shopify
  • Wholesale
  • Retail
  • Marketplaces
    Strong understanding of:
  • Inventory planning
  • Open-to-buy
  • Product margins
  • SKU management
  • Seasonal forecasting
  • Supply chain cash cycles
    Experience in both:
  • Larger established companies
  • High-growth entrepreneurial brands

Prior fractional CFO, consulting, or outsourced finance experience preferred

    Qualifications
  • 7+ years in financial leadership roles
  • Direct experience in fashion and apparel companies
  • Deep understanding of inventory-heavy business models
  • Strong understanding of wholesale + DTC economics
  • Experience navigating seasonal businesses
  • Proven ability to work directly with founders
  • Prior fractional/consulting experience preferred
