This is a remote role that follows a Monday through Friday schedule of 8:00AM to 5:00PM EST.
The primary responsibility of this position is to process and integrate customer data, assisting with the movement of goods between international borders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with regards to U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, USFWS, etc.
- Helps importers and exporters understand and meet the rules and regulations put in place by the federal government with regard to the trade industry
- Discusses and sells our various services with current clients and Operations to resolve issues as they pertain to Customs
- Works with Customs and PGA’s to resolve problems
- Provides written and oral instructions to direct reports; assigns duties and reviews work for accuracy and conformance to the Company’s policies and procedures
- Prepares important documents for import customs clearance of client shipments (i.e. bonds, bills, classify/release and reports), including PGAs.
- Assists subordinates as needed to complete the work of the department
- Stays up-to-date on all customs and Deringer procedure changes
- Manage aging/unresolved audits, communicating status as needed to managers and employees, to ensure completion and provide guidance and consultation as needed to help resolve issues
- Provide coverage for CHB operations when staffing needs arise throughout the region Perform routine and periodic Relationship Reviews, in coordination with Key Account Managers and our Sales team
- Resolves problems (i.e. billing, tracking shipments) and handles customer concerns. Builds relationships with customers
- Covers for team lead when necessary
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- 3+ of recent customs brokerage experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Customs Specialist
- Previous supervisory experience
