Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Infection Control Specialist to join their national team, operating entirely remotely. This pivotal role will focus on developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive infection prevention and control programs across various healthcare and commercial settings. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, conducting risk assessments, and providing expert guidance on best practices for sanitation and hygiene. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in epidemiology, public health, or a related field, coupled with extensive experience in infection control protocols, outbreak investigation, and data analysis. As a remote specialist, you will collaborate closely with site-specific teams, utilizing virtual communication tools to deliver training, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement in sanitation standards. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential risks and a commitment to safeguarding public health through rigorous infection control measures.

Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CDC, OSHA, CMS). Conduct regular risk assessments and environmental audits to identify potential infection hazards. Investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Provide expert consultation and guidance to healthcare facilities, businesses, and public health organizations on infection prevention strategies. Develop and deliver training programs for staff on hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, environmental cleaning, and other infection control practices. Monitor and analyze infection data, identify trends, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, environmental services, and administration, to promote a culture of safety. Stay current with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in infection prevention and control. Serve as a subject matter expert for infection control-related inquiries. Promote evidence-based practices throughout the organization to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and community-acquired infections. Advise on the proper selection and use of cleaning agents, disinfectants, and sterilization equipment. Participate in the development of emergency preparedness and response plans related to infectious disease threats. Qualifications: Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, Microbiology, or a related field. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or eligibility to obtain within a specified timeframe. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in infection control and prevention in a healthcare or public health setting. Demonstrated knowledge of infectious diseases, microbiology, epidemiology, and relevant public health regulations. Experience with data analysis, surveillance, and outbreak investigation. Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems or infection control software. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a remote environment. Strong understanding of environmental cleaning and disinfection protocols.
