This is not a standard tutoring position. You will facilitate live online workshops designed to challenge high-performing students, deliver focused preparation for competitions such as AMC and AIME, and develop reusable curriculum materials that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT campus programs. If you excel at converting potential into documented results and can present complex concepts with precision, this role will suit you well.

What You Will Be Doing
• Plan and conduct 2–4 live online domain workshops weekly that develop competition-standard mathematical reasoning
• Provide individualized or small-group coaching focused on particular contests through practice examinations, timed exercises, and thorough analysis
• Identify weaknesses quickly and develop customized advancement strategies aligned with each student's objectives and competition schedule
• Monitor development using a structured mathematics progression framework and modify teaching methods based on performance data
• Produce original, challenging problem collections and modular instructional resources that can be deployed by other instructors across programs

What You Won’t Be Doing
• Provide general assignment assistance or grade-focused tutoring lacking defined, quantifiable results
• Conduct traditional classroom instruction limited to standard academic content
• Offer unplanned problem-solving sessions without strategy, assessment mechanisms, or competitive progression
• Rely on borrowed or insufficient materials that fail to satisfy competitive mathematics benchmarks

Math Olympiad Coach Key Responsibilities

This role ensures gifted students reliably produce documented, competition-level mathematical achievements that GT School can recognize and families can depend upon.

Basic Requirements
• Documented elite-level mathematical accomplishment (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or comparable verifiable achievement)
• Minimum 6 months of instruction, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrable results
• Capability to present advanced mathematics in clear, accessible terms to gifted young students
• Comprehensive knowledge of mathematics competition structures, content areas, and preparation methods (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
• Effective online teaching skills and capacity to maintain student engagement through video platforms
• Availability for 5–10 hours weekly
• Dependable internet connection and professional video equipment

Nice-to-have Requirements
• Current, ongoing participation as a contestant, trainer, or developer of competition-oriented educational content
• Background creating scalable instructional resources, problem collections, or curricula for use by fellow educators
• Documented student achievements including competition qualifications, rankings, awards, or other verified contest results

Working with us

This is a part-time (10 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $37,500 USD/year assuming 10 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
