Position Overview
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to fill Part-Time Customer Service Agent positions working the PM shift (Afternoon/Evening hours). This position requires physical capability to handle the demands of airport ground operations, including lifting heavy items, navigating stairs and jetways, and remaining alert in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will be a local Hawaii resident who is available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Agent at arenaflex, your duties will encompass a wide range of passenger services and ground operations. Here's what you can expect:
- Passenger Baggage Assistance: Assist passengers with checking in their luggage, retrieving bags upon arrival, and ensuring proper handling of all cargo. You'll be the expert in making sure belongings reach their destination safely.
- Baggage Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for passengers experiencing issues with delayed, lost, or damaged luggage. Your problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you work diligently to locate missing items, process claims, and provide updates to frustrated travelers with empathy and professionalism.
- Luggage Tracking & Documentation: Utilize specialized computer software systems to track, catalog, and manage baggage throughout the handling process. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial in preventing mishandled bags and ensuring proper documentation.
- Exceptional Customer Interactions: Handle every passenger interaction with class, efficiency, and professionalism. Whether answering questions, providing directions, or handling complaints, you'll represent arenaflex with warmth and competence.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain awareness of moving vehicles and aircraft at all times. Properly utilize radio communication equipment to coordinate with team members and stay informed of operational changes.
- Airport Security Protocols: Complete required ramp and SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) training to obtain airport authority identification. Adhere strictly to all security procedures and protocols.
- Physical Tasks: Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 70 pounds. Repeatedly lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces such as jetway stairs. Navigate stairways, ramps, and various airport terrain throughout your shift.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned, utilizing the appropriate skills and experience expected of this position. Flexibility and willingness to adapt are key to success in this role.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Local Residence: Must be a current in-state resident of Hawaii. We value team members who are familiar with the local community and can reliably commute to Kahului Airport.
- Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.
- Driver's License: Valid in-state (Hawaii) driver's license is mandatory for this position.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Work Authorization: Must have legal authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check covering the past 10 years.
- Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as required by aviation industry regulations.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 70 pounds regularly and navigating jetway stairs while carrying heavy items.
- Safety Awareness: Must be alert to moving vehicles and aircraft at all times and capable of operating radio communication equipment effectively.
