About the Role: Financial Analyst – Canada Merchant Revenue Analysis

The Global Merchant & Network Services (GM&NS) Estimating team is responsible for the single largest source of arenaflex's revenue: Merchant Discount Income. Our team works closely with numerous colleagues to determine the optimal pricing to enable merchant acceptance of arenaflex while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction. Ultimately, we drive GM&S revenue and profit growth through customer-driven pricing standards, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Financial Analyst of Planning and Analysis – Canada to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the association's objective for profitable charge volume and merchant growth—essential for the strength of our business. This is a part-time position offering competitive hourly compensation ranging from $25-$35 per hour, providing flexibility while still making a significant impact.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst on our Canada team, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of our merchant services division. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Revenue Forecasting: Create comprehensive Canada forecasts for merchant discount income, tracking monthly performance against projections and identifying key drivers of variance and change.

  • Performance Reporting: Develop detailed merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region, providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization.

  • Process Excellence: Drive standardization and process improvement among the various regional pricing teams for all reporting and forecasting-related activities, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

  • Audit Support: Support external audits by investigating issues found, reaching out to regional pricing teams that manage merchant relationships to discuss issues, and overseeing resolutions.

  • Data Analysis: Perform ad-hoc data analysis to evaluate discount rate trends and uncover valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multiple departments to ensure alignment between pricing strategies, merchant growth objectives, and revenue targets.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to innovative pricing solutions and flexible pricing architecture development that enhances merchant satisfaction and acceptance.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services or payments industry; experience in other finance-related roles is highly desirable.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; strong preference for degrees in Finance, Accounting, or Business.

  • Technical Proficiency: High proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. You should be comfortable building complex financial models, conducting variance analysis, and creating dynamic dashboards.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities. Demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and derive value-added insights from large volumes of financial data.

  • Programming Knowledge: Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS/SQL is required for data extraction and analysis.
