Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented individuals to provide payroll support within the Accounting and Budget Development Division. This position performs a variety of specialized and technical duties related to payroll and system related functions to ensure accurate and timely payment of County Office employees.


Responsibilities

  • Provide payroll support within the Accounting and Budget Development Division
  • Perform a variety of specialized and technical duties related to payroll and system related functions
  • Assure County Office employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner

Skills

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One year of payroll processing experience and the utilization of automated business systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state statutes, codes, laws, regulations, bargaining labor agreements, policies and procedures related to payroll processing, time reporting, personnel assignments, deduction control, and payroll accounting
  • Knowledge of input and data retrieval procedures for payroll databases and computerized systems
  • Knowledge of filing and record-keeping systems (e.g., UKG, Red Rover) and techniques for physical and electronic document management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Competency in Critical Thinking – Analytically and logically evaluating information, propositions, and claims
  • Competency in Mathematical Facility – Performing computations and solving mathematical problems
  • Competency in Legal & Regulatory Navigation – Understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
  • Competency in Professional & Technical Expertise – Applying technical subject matter to the job
  • Competency in Using Technology – Working with electronic hardware and software applications
  • Competency in Attention to Detail – Focusing on the details of work content, work steps, and final work products
