What You'll Do
As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer experiences while supporting our pharmacy operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating Memorable Customer Interactions: Greet every customer with warmth and enthusiasm. Engage with patients and customers by offering friendly assistance with products and services, answering questions, and resolving concerns to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Register Operations: Operate the designated sales register with accuracy and efficiency. Process customer purchases, handle cash transactions, process voids, returns, delays, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Collect proper payment and provide correct change professionally.
- Pharmacy Support: Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist and in accordance with state and federal regulations, assist with pharmacy operations. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication information and process prescriptions accurately.
- Prescription Processing: Retrieve, count, and pour prescription medications as directed. Verify that medications are correct and check for potential drug interactions. Enter patient and medication information into pharmacy systems accurately.
- Error Reporting: Immediately report any prescription errors to the on-duty pharmacist. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Inventory Management: Keep counters and displays clean, well-organized, and attractively promoted. Take inventory as required, check in and price stock, and maintain accurate records.
- Stock and Merchandising: Assist with receiving, unloading, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments. Maintain knowledge of company asset security procedures and report any discrepancies, overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding controlled substances, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. Follow all company policies and procedures meticulously.
- Product Merchandising: Build and maintain engaging displays including promotional, seasonal, and sale stock. Complete resets and corrections as directed by management.
- Food Division Support: Assist with grocery items, including proper positioning of raw foods versus pre-cooked items. Support inventory rotation using FIFO (first in, first out) methods.
- Photo Services: Provide excellent customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, banner printing, and creative machine operations. Offer special photo products to customers.
- Online Order Fulfillment: Handle web order responsibilities, including screening orders in the designated system, picking items, and delivering orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
- Store Maintenance: Assist with internal and external maintenance to ensure a clean, tidy, and professional store environment and appearance.
- General Support: Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Director, Staff Pharmacist, or Senior Manager.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree is preferred for this position, demonstrating strong academic background and critical thinking capabilities.
- Language Skills: Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English (with exceptions as permitted in Puerto Rico).
- Availability: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours. Retail pharmacy environments require adaptability to meet business needs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with customers, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accuracy in processing transactions, handling cash, and entering prescription information.
- Customer Service Orientation: Genuine desire to help others and create positive experiences for every customer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least six months) in a retail environment is strongly preferred.
- Prior work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Proficient computer skills for operating store systems and pharmacy software.
- Knowledge of store inventory control procedures.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or willingness to obtain certification through our training program.
- Familiarity with customer service best practices and excellent relational habits.

Compensation
