Proofreader (Croation)

We are looking for a detail-focused Croation Proofreader to support short-term remote assignments for a services organization. This is a Contract position offering project-based work over 3-day engagements, starting early, and suited to candidates who can review written materials with precision and consistency. The role is ideal for someone with strong business-level Norwegian language skills who can deliver high-quality documents while working independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review written materials in Croation to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting issues before final delivery.

• Refine document wording and presentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with language standards and project instructions.

• Verify that content reads naturally for the intended local audience while preserving the original meaning and structure.

• Complete assigned proofreading tasks within established turnaround times and uphold quality expectations across each project.

• Share progress updates, raise questions quickly, and communicate any issues that could affect deadlines or deliverables.

• Handle confidential or sensitive information responsibly while following all project-specific guidelines and industry standards.

• At least 1 year of experience in proofreading, editing, or a closely related language-review role.

• Business-level fluency in Croation with strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.

• Demonstrated ability to identify errors and maintain consistency across documents with close attention to detail.

• Proficiency with Google Workspace and comfort working in a fully remote setting.

• Ability to manage short-term contract assignments independently and meet tight project deadlines.

• Strong written communication skills for providing status updates and clarifying project requirements.
