We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our Transportation Examination group within the Business Intelligence team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our transportation operations by transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights that drive strategic business decisions. What You'll Do

As a key member of our Transportation Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for providing data-driven insights that support critical business decisions. Your daily work will involve navigating through billions of data points to extract meaningful information that helps our stakeholders make the best choices quickly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Insights: Work with large, messy, dynamic datasets and conduct ad-hoc analyses to inform critical business decisions quickly. You will be responsible for diving deep into our transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.


• Data Pipeline Development: Create ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) or processes that pull information from various sources and consolidate it into unified tables for analysis. Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the data integration process.


• Dashboard Development: Foster creativity with a Client Experience foundation to develop meaningful Tableau dashboards that visualize key performance metrics and business insights. Create intuitive, interactive dashboards that enable stakeholders to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.


• Business Intelligence: Demonstrate Business Operations familiarity and the ability to understand and root cause business issues. A Supply Chain background, preferably with transportation experience, is highly valued in this role.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with colleagues and cross-functional teams on an occasional basis and establish credibility. Analyze partner needs and collaborate with them to share relevant information. This includes partnering with Operations, Finance, and Product teams on data accuracy, completion, and latency across various projects and systems.


• Automation & Reporting: Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate activities created for reporting, including screenshots, statistics prioritization, and anomaly recognition. Develop automated solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.


• Knowledge Sharing: Document your processes and share your knowledge with your peers. Mentor your colleagues as you become a Subject Matter Expert. Contribute to our team's collective knowledge base and help elevate the capabilities of your teammates.

Essential Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.


• SQL Expertise: Exceptional SQL skills with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity. You should be comfortable writing complex queries, joins, subqueries, and optimizing for performance.


• Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools. Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools is essential.


• Business Acumen: Ability to understand business operations and translate data findings into actionable business recommendations. Previous exposure to supply chain or transportation operations is highly desirable.


• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. You must be able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau, including complex joins, calculated fields, and dashboard optimization


• Experience with e-commerce operations or package carrier operations


• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and data analysis


• Experience with data manipulation tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, or similar platforms


• Understanding of transportation logistics and supply chain operations


• Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms
