What You'll Do

As a Data Scientist on our Cost and Operations Analysis team, you'll play a critical role in improving efficiency, automation, and provider experiences across our organization. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver seamless, high-quality healthcare services to millions of members.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop Advanced Models and Algorithms: Design, implement, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms that enhance processes related to our healthcare claims environment, driving operational excellence and accuracy.

  • Identify Analysis Opportunities: Continuously evaluate and measure opportunities for analysis that improve efficiency and increase automation in claims settlement and claims modification processes.

  • Build Predictive Solutions: Create, validate, and execute algorithms and predictive models to investigate complex issues, identify meaningful patterns, and recommend data-driven solutions.

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms to solve moderately complex business challenges and uncover actionable insights.

  • Statistical Modeling: Apply advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses to extract meaningful patterns from healthcare data and support strategic decision-making.

  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop data models and pipelines to integrate, collect, and normalize data that generates valuable insights and meets reporting requirements.

  • Visual Communication: Utilize data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business decisions with clear, compelling visual representations.

  • Data Integrity Management: Create and evaluate the data needs of assigned projects, ensuring the integrity and quality of data throughout the analytics lifecycle.

  • Data Source Optimization: Analyze existing data sources and recommend additional data sources for continuous improvement and enhanced analytical capabilities.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of significant analytical experience in a professional setting, demonstrating the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.

  • Programming Expertise: Strong experience programming using R or Python, with the ability to develop efficient, scalable solutions.

  • Database Skills: Proven experience with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field

  • Experience in healthcare industry analytics, particularly with claims data
