Position Summary
The Retail Customer Service Specialist consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all patrons, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer-focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of arenaflex's business operations, including professional printing services, custom signs & graphics, and comprehensive shipping solutions. You will be responsible for taking orders with precision, coordinating activities within the Store, providing accurate pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate arenaflex products and services that meet each customer's specific requirements.
Additionally, you will operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment, efficiently move boxes and equipment, stock necessary materials, manage the production queue and output, oversee complex projects, maintain retail supply inventory, and complete all assigned tasks based on priority and urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence
- Demonstrate consultative behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer's individualized needs and preferences
- Provide expert customer guidance in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, recommending appropriate arenaflex products and services
- Deliver an outstanding customer service experience by using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations
- Ensure all customer problems are resolved quickly, professionally, and to the complete satisfaction of the customer
- Take complex customer orders using advanced order systems and provide accurate pricing information with transparency and integrity
Operational Excellence
- Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items in appropriate insulation, inserting items securely into shipping containers, accurately weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels with precision
- Set up and operate printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail Store environment that reflects arenaflex's commitment to professionalism and quality
- Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash transactions and making accurate change
- Clean, repair, and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
Team Collaboration
- Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing Store functions with a positive attitude
- Participate in the training of new Store team members, sharing your expertise and knowledge to help them succeed
- Maintain effective communication with customers, vendors, and other team members at all times
Business Awareness
- Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages at all times
- Stay current on retail Store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all retail area products and signage
- Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste, contributing to operational efficiency
- Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting including daily sales, close-outs, and bank deposits
- Follow arenaflex standard operating procedures while adhering to legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies and procedures
Self-Management and Development
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent organization and time management skills
- Actively seek opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail Store environment
- Able to operate with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of performance
- Adhere to all arenaflex team member and retail store standards as outlined in the team member handbook
- Complete all other duties as needed or required
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED accepted)
- Six or more months of specialized experience in customer service, retail, or related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- For new hires: Must meet all arenaflex employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
- For current arenaflex team members: Must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail environment
- Familiarity with printing, shipping, or graphics industry operations
- Demonstrated ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions
- Ability to handle cash and process financial transactions accurately
Essential Functions
This role requires the ability to perform the following functions on a consistent basis:
- Stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
- Move and lift items up to 55 pounds safely
- Bend/twist at the waist and knees to perform various job duties
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
- Perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
- Function in a fast-paced environment under substantial pressure
- Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
- Work with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability
- Report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support arenaflex operations

Compensation & Benefits
