Join arenaflex: Transform Healthcare Data into Life-Changing Insights

Are you ready to be part of a dynamic team that's reshaping the future of healthcare analytics? At arenaflex, we believe that data has the power to improve patient outcomes, optimize healthcare delivery, and drive meaningful change across the entire healthcare ecosystem. We're looking for a talented and passionate Senior Analytics Engineer to join our growing Health division and help us build the data infrastructure that powers critical healthcare quality improvement initiatives.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you'll work at the intersection of data engineering, healthcare analytics, and business intelligence. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, BI engineers, system administrators, and clinical stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that directly impact patient care and healthcare quality. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your technical expertise in a mission-driven environment where your work truly matters.

If you're excited about working with large-scale healthcare datasets, building robust ETL pipelines, and creating data solutions that drive real-world outcomes, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in our Healthcare Quality Improvement program and Data Commercialization initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Data Delivery Initiatives: Direct the end-to-end delivery of healthcare data and insights projects that support arenaflex Health's strategic objectives. You'll own the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex data engineering initiatives.
  • Build and Maintain Data Infrastructure: Design, develop, and maintain data foundation pipelines that enable report automation for our Healthcare Quality Improvement program. You'll ensure data reliability, scalability, and performance across all analytics platforms.
  • ETL and Data Warehousing: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health's reporting and analytics requirements. You'll work with both structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop Layered Data Models: Create and implement layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics projects. You'll design logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for enterprise BI and predefined reporting solutions.
  • Data Integration: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal production system sources and third-party files. You'll work with diverse data formats and APIs.
  • Data Profiling and Analysis: Perform comprehensive data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.
  • Automation Development: Create internal tools for automating all development-related activities including data processing, QA, data validation, and testing. You'll reduce manual effort and improve efficiency across the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with a cross-functional team of data professionals, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health. You'll serve as the technical bridge between technical teams and business users.

What We're Looking For: Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • SQL Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts. You should be comfortable with complex queries, stored procedures, performance optimization, and database design.
  • Data Engineering Tools: Experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
  • BI Platform Experience: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor relationships.
  • Business Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. You should understand how data analytics impacts business outcomes.
  • Leadership Experience: A minimum of 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, or cross-functional team leadership experience.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications: Bonus Skills That Set You Apart

While not required, the following qualifications will help you stand out:

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent data analytics certification
  • Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts including claims data, patient eligibility, HEDIS measures, and clinical quality metrics
  • Healthcare Data Standards: Understanding of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, or ICD-10 coding
  • Advanced Cloud Platforms: Deep experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture patterns
  • Machine Learning Basics: Knowledge of ML model deployment and integration with data pipelines

At arenaflex, we value technical excellence combined with strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
