Our mission is to connect people through the magic of storytelling, and we're looking for talented individuals who share our passion for excellence to join our Subscriber Operations team.

Within arenaflex's Immediate to Consumer group, we oversee the streaming organizations that bring top-tier entertainment to fans and families everywhere. We're not just streaming content — we're building the future of how the world experiences entertainment. Our team works at the intersection of data, technology, and customer experience, ensuring that every subscriber interaction is seamless, compliant, and personalized.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our Subscriber Operations Analytics team. This is a critical role responsible for the measurement and management of subscriber balances across the arenaflex Streaming portfolio, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in supporting ongoing subscriber measurement for various business-critical initiatives. You will work closely with our upstream messaging partners to ensure accurate delivery of subscription change communications — including price increases, subscriber offers, and new data collection efforts — by identifying which subscribers should receive our legally mandated notifications. Additionally, you will help identify subscribers impacted by incidents requiring timely and legally compliant remediations.

You will collaborate extensively with Incident Management, Business Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure the integrity of our subscriber balances and that customers receive appropriate credits when required. This is a dynamic role where your analytical expertise will directly impact millions of subscribers and the success of our streaming services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management & Requirements: Manage admission and archive data requirements related to subscriber messaging initiatives (including cost increases, subscriber offers, and new data being collected) and incident remediation — ensuring that the right customers receive credits when required.
  • Query Development: Develop queries based on required business logic, sometimes legally binding, to determine accurate cohorts of subscribers for messaging and/or remediation purposes.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Convey business requirements to technical teams and provide concise summaries of technical progress and/or roadblocks to business stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of subscriber balances and the technical infrastructure that underlies subscriber data.
  • Project Management: Manage project planning and schedules and oversee cross-functional delivery to ensure readiness for significant business events.
  • Process Improvement: Drive alignment across Data, Business Operations, and Finance through the development of strong communication processes and operational playbooks.
  • Reporting Solutions: In collaboration with Data Product and Data Quality Engineering, contribute to the design of robust reporting solutions that minimize data incidents.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of work experience developing in SQL, particularly in an ETL processing pipeline environment.

  • Analytical Background: 2+ years of analytical experience with a proven track record of extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets.

  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated insight with delivering technical and/or analytical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in Python/R or other statistical programming languages.

  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar platforms.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, along with excellent written and verbal presentation skills.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Statistical Knowledge: Understanding of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling.

  • Advanced Education: Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Technical Stack: Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration platforms.

  • Domain Expertise: Familiarity with streaming media industry dynamics and subscription-based business models.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of consumer protection regulations and compliance requirements in messaging and remediation contexts.

Skills & Competencies

To thrive in this role at arenaflex, you'll need to demonstrate:

  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to approach complex problems methodically, break them down into manageable components, and develop data-driven solutions.

  • Attention to Detail: A commitment to accuracy, especially when dealing with legally binding notifications and financial remediations affecting subscribers.

  • Collaborative Mindset: The ability to work effectively across functional teams and build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities and requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.

  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
