Core Responsibilities and Key Expectations

• Architect and Build Data Pipelines: Design, develop, and deploy robust data pipelines and infrastructure that enable teams to analyze data, build models, and drive informed business decisions. You'll move from individual "computer-scale" issues to enterprise "bunch-scale" solutions, considering both infrastructure and organizational structure.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with diverse teams spanning multiple disciplines to generate data-driven operational insights that lead to high-value, optimized solutions. Act as a "universal translator" between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.


• Technical Leadership: Lead code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and participate in large-scale system implementations. Ensure best practices are established and maintained for future reuse through open, reusable patterns, templates, and codebases.


• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Leverage Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms to build and scale data solutions. Develop and operationalize functions and pipelines capable of handling near-real-time, high-volume streaming scenarios.


• Performance Optimization: Apply an "engineering" mindset to make quick, informed decisions that improve performance and accelerate progress. Debug complex issues and help resolve challenges that span multiple systems and technologies.


• CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines that ensure reliable, repeatable deployments of data solutions across environments.


• External Partnership Engagement: Collaborate with senior technologists from across the enterprise and beyond, including partner ecosystems and clients, to create integrations and ensure smooth connections to downstream operational systems.

Required Qualifications and Technical Expertise

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.


• Programming Proficiency: Strong hands-on development skills with the ability to work at the code level. Demonstrated experience with languages including Python, Scala, Java, or similar.


• Data Processing Frameworks: Experience with Spark (including Scala and PySpark), HDFS, Kafka, and other high-volume data processing tools.


• Database Technologies: Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, or similar platforms.


• Machine Learning Tools: Working knowledge of data science and ML tools such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, and Jupyter notebooks.
