What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Science Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in driving the evolution of our recommendation algorithms and search experiences. Your work will directly influence how customers find and engage with products across our platform. Here's what you can expect to do in this role:

• Run Comprehensive Exploratory Data Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify novel ideas and opportunities for improving our search and recommendation systems. You'll use statistical techniques to uncover hidden patterns and trends in customer behavior.


• Design and Execute A/B Testing: Design, implement, and analyze the results of A/B trials for new recommendation algorithms and strategies. You'll develop new testing methodologies and analysis approaches that set the standard for experimentation across the organization.


• Develop KPI Reporting and Monitoring Systems: Create robust KPI reporting mechanisms that track the health and performance of our recommendation systems. This includes building anomaly detection tools and implementing advanced measurement approaches that provide real-time insights.


• Perform Exploratory Data Analysis for Product Insights: Conduct clustering and segmentation analyses to generate new insights that inform our product recommendation roadmap. You'll translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.


• Utilize and Enhance In-House Automation Tools: Work with our proprietary automated tools, including QA instruments that help us better understand the performance of new algorithms before deploying them in A/B tests.


• Proactively Monitor Recommendation Models: Continuously monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and implement resolutions before they impact customers.


• Build New Tools for Efficiency: Create new tools and processes that allow the team to be more productive and efficient in our analysis workflows.


• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product, engineering, and machine learning partners to build productive relationships and ensure alignment on goals and initiatives.


• Communicate Key Insights: Deliver key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization, translating technical findings into business-impacting narratives.

What You'll Need

We're looking for candidates who bring a combination of technical excellence, business acumen, and collaborative spirit. To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.


• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in an analytical role, in addition to any graduate education. Experience or internships in analytics, data science, or business intelligence roles are highly valued.


• E-Commerce Analytics Experience: Prior experience with analysis or data science roles at e-commerce companies is a strong plus and will help you hit the ground running.

Technical Skills Required

• Advanced SQL Expertise: Deep experience with SQL is required, including complex queries, query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, and familiarity with platforms such as Vertica, Hive, Voila, or Flash.


• Python Proficiency: Extensive experience with Python and Python tools is required, including Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and other relevant libraries for data analysis and visualization.


• Statistical Analysis and A/B Testing: Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision-making is highly preferred.


• Machine Learning Knowledge: Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and methods, including decision trees, random forests, deep learning, and other techniques, within a business setting is highly preferred.
