In this role, you'll become an essential part of our Demand Forecasting quantitative platform team, where you'll help construct the critical components that enable us to evaluate product demand and pricing strategies for our extensive inventory. What You'll Do

Mathematical Model Development

• Design and implement advanced forecasting models using your deep understanding of AI algorithms, linear algebra, probability theory, statistics, and optimization theory


• Build time series forecasting models, machine learning models, and optimization algorithms that predict demand across thousands of product categories


• Develop mathematical and statistical models to estimate demand for millions of items, directly influencing inventory management and pricing strategies


• Create algorithms that enable real-time demand and price adjustments based on changing market conditions

Data Analysis & Visualization

• Perform comprehensive data investigation and examination, including distribution analysis and anomaly detection


• Create intuitive visualizations that communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders


• Translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations


• Develop straightforward representations of data patterns and trends

Algorithmic Implementation

• Implement algorithmic solutions based on detailed specifications while adhering to industry best practices in model development


• Write production-ready code for mathematical and statistical models


• Ensure robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that can handle enterprise-level data volumes


• Develop algorithms capable of processing millions of data points in real-time

Code Excellence & Documentation

• Follow primary programming principles including best practices, unit testing, and code organization


• Understand and implement fundamentals of CI/CD pipelines


• Create well-documented, maintainable, and thoroughly tested codebases


• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner effectively with business clients, researchers, and engineers across multiple time zones


• Collaborate to build frameworks that enable rapid development of new forecasting and pricing capabilities


• Work alongside Buyers and Merchandising teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions


• Coordinate investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues in software and broader system ecosystems

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: 3-year degree in Quantitative disciplines such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience


• Professional Experience: 3 or more years of hands-on experience building Time Series Forecasting models, Demand Forecasting models, Machine Learning models, or optimization algorithms


• Technical Expertise: Strong quantitative skills with specific experience in Statistical Inference, Generalized Linear Models, and Markov Decision Processes


• Programming Proficiency: Strong proficiency in at least one of Python, R, Java, or Scala – with the ability to develop in multiple supported programming languages


• Data Structures & Algorithms: Deep understanding of data structures and algorithm design


• Testing & Measurement: Ability to thoroughly test and measure algorithm performance and accuracy


• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences


• Work Ethic: Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards


• Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively across different time zones and functional areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Quantitative fields such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Operations Research
