ABOUT JUNEBUG
Junebug (a DBA of Playtime Planning LLC) is a pre-launch mobile app connecting parents in Orange County and San Diego with local children's activity providers — think kids' classes, camps, sports, and enrichment programs, all in one place. We have an established Instagram following at @playtimeplanning.oc and are now building out Junebug as a distinct brand ahead of our app launch.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
You'll take full ownership of launching and growing Junebug's social media presence. This is a ground-up build — we're starting from zero on these accounts, and we want someone who's done this before. Specifically:
- Launch and manage Junebug's Instagram and TikTok accounts as the primary focus, with Facebook and LinkedIn as secondary platforms
- Develop reusable, on-brand content templates across all platforms
- Build and execute a content calendar (~3–4 posts/week on primary platforms, 2 engagements/week on secondary)
- Identify and reach out to local parent-facing influencers in Orange County and San Diego for organic collaboration
- Post in relevant local community groups (Facebook, Nextdoor, Reddit, etc.) to drive awareness
- Plan and execute social media giveaways to drive viral growth
- Redirect traffic to our landing page and app store listing
- Optimize content and profiles for SEO and discoverability
- Help migrate and distinguish our existing @playtimeplanning.oc audience toward the Junebug brand
- Provide a brief monthly report covering follower growth, engagement rate, and top-performing content
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven track record growing social media accounts from scratch — please share before/after follower and engagement data from past work
- Strong content creation skills including graphic design (Canva Pro, Adobe, or equivalent) and short-form video editing for Reels and TikTok
- Experience with influencer outreach and community-driven growth strategies
- Familiarity with parent, family, or local services audiences is a strong plus
- Self-directed and able to execute independently — we'll provide brand direction and strategic oversight but want hands-off execution
- Experience with SEO best practices for social media content
ENGAGEMENT DETAILS
- Structure: Fixed monthly retainer
- Budget: $1,200–$1,400/month (~$18/hr at 15–18 hrs/wk)
- Duration: Initial 90-day engagement with opportunity to extend
- Timeline: Looking to start within the next 2–3 weeks
- Location: Remote — Southern California familiarity preferred but not required
PERFORMANCE BONUSES
In addition to the monthly retainer, we offer a 90-day performance bonus based on follower growth and content quality. Both conditions must be met to unlock each tier.
Bonuses are tiered, not additive. Engagement rate = (likes + comments + saves) ÷ followers × 100, measured at the 90-day mark.
