About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer for Virtual Testing & Simulation on our MSP team, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how we validate complex mechatronic systems. You'll develop and implement virtual platforms that enable comprehensive testing through simulations and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance before they ever reach the physical world.

You'll partner closely with Product Teams to drive high-quality product delivery, synchronize virtual and physical testing efforts with our QA Manual Testing and Requirements Team, and collaborate with internal customers including Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Ops Engineering to ensure new solutions exceed their expectations.

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and executing virtual system test plans that validate system-level requirements, meet customer deliverables, and ensure integrated system performance across all sub-components—including hardware automation, controls, software applications, and materials compatibility.

• Develop, implement, and execute simulations and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments to virtually validate end-to-end solutions using real-world software


• Virtually ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, operation, reliability, maintenance, training, deployment, process integration, material handling equipment (MHE) integration, service, and support prior to delivery


• Identify and establish appropriate quality standards and parameters for products, communicating these effectively to product teams including hardware, software, controls, and materials development teams


• Coordinate simulations and testing processes across multiple stakeholder groups


• Identify, analyze, and resolve issues, bugs, defects, and other problems—particularly when problems recur across multiple products—and recommend and facilitate effective solutions


• Connect with internal customers including Operations, RME, ACES, Process Engineering, Ops Engineering, and WWDE to review client, customer, and user feedback


• Develop and maintain modeling and simulation capabilities for validation and verification in both static and dynamic test environments


• Create test automation within HIL environments using test executors and automation engines that leverage real automation software


• Use simulation environments to early-validate and stress-test end-to-end solutions, ensuring new solutions are ready for operation, maintenance, deployment, and support


• Support the QA Manual Testing team in validating virtual models and use simulations to quickly test multiple variables through Design-of-Experiment methodologies


• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate with broad experience and exposure across multiple stakeholders, possessing deep skills in complex systems integration amid high degrees of ambiguity. You must be able to work successfully across multiple large engineering and operations teams at a strategic level and drive quality across all our products.

The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, proven collaboration abilities, exceptional analytical and abstract thinking capabilities, and outstanding time management and organizational skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field


• 5+ years of proven experience working with large cross-functional engineering teams with modeling, simulation, testing, integration, and/or quality assurance domain expertise


• Proven experience in fulfillment systems with storage equipment, material handling systems, automated sortation systems, and related automation equipment


• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to travel up to 70% to business locations and project sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing


• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, operations, and management


• Project management skills to initiate and successfully complete projects


• Experience with CAD/CAM software and simulation platforms


• Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and their performance characteristics


• Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and smart manufacturing technologies


• Experience working in agile development environments

• Simulation & Modeling: Experience with simulation tools and platforms for developing virtual test environments, including HIL systems
