HR Data Coordinator (Temp)

MassDevelopment is the state’s development finance agency and land bank, dedicated to strengthening the Massachusetts economy. The HR Data Coordinator will support a short-term project focused on organizing and digitizing employee records, ensuring HR compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess current HR filing systems (both digital and physical) to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement
• Audit and clean employee records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with retention policies
• Standardize file naming conventions and organize records into a clear, consistent structure
• Upload and migrate files into the HRIS or designated secure digital platform
• Establish organized folder structures and ensure all records are centralized and easy to access
• Conduct quality checks to verify data accuracy, proper categorization, and secure handling of sensitive information
• Create clear documentation outlining file structures, naming conventions, and best practices for ongoing use
• Provide regular progress updates and contribute to a final summary of completed work and recommendations for next steps

Skills

• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Human Resources, Information Science, Business Administration, a related field, or relevant experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage and maintain confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Comfort working with digital systems and willingness to learn HRIS platforms
• Strong time management skills and ability to follow structured processes
• Experience with data cleanup, records management, or system migrations
