Position Overview
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Information Researcher - Real World Evidence (RWE) to join our Clinical Data Science team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for generating robust Real World Evidence through advanced research methodologies and innovative approaches in the clinical trials space. You will serve as a vital member of our Clinical Sciences group, working collaboratively to address complex business questions and drive strategic initiatives using your expertise in data science and technology.

You will conduct sophisticated data analysis to help answer critical business questions, working alongside cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights that shape the future of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Mining and Analysis: Mine raw data sets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from internal data resources or licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results while contributing to the development of comprehensive analysis strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial team to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. This includes analysis of unmet needs, safety and efficacy of treatments in specific disease states, treatment patterns, healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
- Data Management: Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization. Ensure data integrity and accessibility across the organization.
- Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis on RWE/Real World Data (RWD) to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes. Apply advanced statistical methodologies to extract meaningful patterns and trends.
- Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities. Apply advanced analytics and tools to address scientific inquiries from biopharmaceutical organizations.
- Research Study Execution: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific validity.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations. Maintain highest standards of scientific excellence in all deliverables.
- Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for both internal and external use, effectively communicating complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Vendor Assessment: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors. Drive RWD quality assessments to inform project decisions and ensure data reliability.
Essential Qualifications
- Statistical Expertise: Experience designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data. Strong foundation in statistical methodology and research design.
- Statistical Techniques: Knowledge of common statistical testing techniques including generalized linear models, clustering and classification, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
- Large Data Handling: Experience processing large data sets from diverse data sources. Ability to work with complex, high-dimensional datasets efficiently.
- Data Privacy: Experience handling protected patient health information (PHI) with strict adherence to privacy regulations and best practices.
- Business Intelligence Tools: Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI/visualization tools.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree: PhD or Master's degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.
- Healthcare Data Experience: Proficiency in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and healthcare data workflows.
- Clinical Data Standards: Expertise in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).
- Alternative Data Sources: Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.
- Advanced Analytics: Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics.
- Continuous Learning: Understanding of statistics and machine learning methods, with the ability to pursue self-learning of both technical and non-technical skills.
