What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of our data transformation initiatives, applying sophisticated analytical techniques to solve complex business challenges. Your work will involve developing predictive models, designing optimization algorithms, and providing actionable insights that inform strategic decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development: Build, validate, and deploy machine learning models and statistical solutions using advanced techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability theory, and decision science. Innovate continuously by adapting to new modeling methodologies and best practices.
- Business Insight Generation: Understand the commercial reality behind massive datasets and develop meaningful analytic solutions that address real business challenges. Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Advanced Statistical Analysis: Apply rigorous analytical and statistical techniques to analyze large volumes of data using advanced methods including predictive statistical models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, and data mining. Build recommendation and optimization algorithms while performing data retrieval, complexity analysis, and scientific computing.
- Programming & Technical Development: Program using our tech stack including Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other emerging technologies to develop robust analytical solutions.
- Machine Learning Implementation: Perform machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised algorithms, to construct predictive models and prescriptive solutions that support diverse business use cases across the enterprise.
- Algorithm Design: Build algorithms including decision trees, regression models, XGBoost, K-means clustering, and anomaly detection systems. Apply interpretable machine learning and Bayesian theory to deliver transparent and explainable AI solutions.
- Cloud Platform Utilization: Leverage Cloud Computing on Azure/Databricks platforms and perform querying in Snowflake environments to process and analyze data at scale.
- Software Engineering Practices: Utilize software tools and methodologies including GitHub, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and agile methodologies to ensure robust and maintainable code development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance teams, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Communicate verbally and in writing to business clients and management teams with varying levels of technical expertise, educating them about our systems while sharing insights and strategic recommendations.
What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative analysis, or computational fields; OR High School diploma/GED with a minimum of seven years of experience in these areas.
- Advanced Degree Preferred: M.S. in STEM, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.
- Experience Requirements: At least four years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create/optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience in SQL, Python, PySPark, or other programming languages used for data analysis and model development.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced degree of skill in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, pattern detection, distribution analysis, results visualization, and extracting insights to help businesses make informed data-driven decisions.
- Machine Learning Expertise: Experience using decision trees and building classifiers, along with supervised learning techniques (linear and logistic regression, time series modeling, generalized linear models, decision trees, support vector machines) and unsupervised learning techniques (K-means, hierarchical clustering, association rules, principal components).
- Cloud Experience: Experience with Cloud ML systems, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores, and serving engines.
- Experimental Design: Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments to measure and optimize business outcomes.
- Communication Skills: Advanced degree of skill in conveying rigorous technical standards and issues to non-experts, with the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to data scientists, engineering teams, and business audiences.
- Business Acumen: At least two years of experience contributing to financial decisions within the organization.
- Leadership Experience: At least two years of direct leadership, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team management experience.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel up to at least 10% of the time for business purposes (both domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in STEM, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.
- Experience operating with IoT (Internet of Things) and Edge AI technologies.
- Experience in Reinforcement Learning methodologies.
- Prior experience in the Healthcare industry, particularly with pharmacy or retail health data.
