Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse and Analytics. This pivotal role will lead our Adversarial Abuse and Investigation team within the Trust and Safety division, responsible for identifying and mitigating threats that compromise the integrity of our platform. In this capacity, you will manage teams dedicated to early detection of emerging trends, operational enforcement, and comprehensive business analysis that drives strategic decision-making across the organization.
As a senior leader at arenaflex, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Global Merchant Operations, and Policy Development to build robust detection systems, enhance tooling, and create policies that effectively combat abuse at scale. This role requires a unique blend of analytical expertise, leadership acumen, and the ability to navigate a rapidly evolving digital landscape while maintaining our commitment to user safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Adversarial Abuse Team: Oversee the team responsible for identifying and removing actors attempting account takeovers, spam, engagement manipulation, termination evasion, and other malicious activities that threaten our platform ecosystem.
- Lead the Business Investigation Team: Manage the team responsible for generating actionable insights, measuring uncaught badness across the platform, and distributing Transparency Reports for governments and stakeholders worldwide.
- Trend Analysis and Mitigation: Understand, anticipate, and intelligently moderate risks emerging from new and scaling industry trends, including generative AI technologies and evolving manipulation techniques.
- Policy Collaboration: Work alongside the Policy Development team to create comprehensive policies using account, social, and content signals to characterize harmful behavior patterns.
- Operational Excellence: Deliver effective and efficient operational performance in a global team operating 24×7, ensuring quality standards and service levels are consistently met.
- Talent Management: Attract, retain, manage, and develop top-tier talent while fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Escalation Management: Handle high-priority escalations with rapid response times, providing data and content-driven insights while implementing solutions.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Build strong relationships with key cross-functional partners to successfully launch new products and policies that prevent adversarial abuse.
- Strategic Planning: Utilize data to drive strategy and business action, working effectively in a rapidly changing industry while managing ambiguity and minimizing uncertainty through quantitative insights.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk management, fraud fighting at scale, and building/delivering analytical insights that inform business decisions.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with engineering teams that build data infrastructure and machine learning models.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading teams with the ability to work non-standard weeks of work as accelerations require, demonstrating flexibility and commitment during critical incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to lead global teams across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.
- Strong track record of managing complex operational environments with high-volume enforcement actions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a related field such as analytics, engineering, data science, or business administration.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with analysis of large datasets and anomaly detection techniques.
- Direct experience or demonstrated interest in anti-abuse activities within technology platforms.
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as SQL, R, or Matlab for complex data analysis.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to build relationships across functional boundaries.
- Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, including the ability to leverage data to drive organizational strategy and operational improvements.
- Experience working in a rapidly changing industry with demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
