Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Reliability Engineer Lead to join our Custom Silicon Management division. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, quality, and performance of our next-generation semiconductor products from the initial design phase through to mass production and beyond. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to lead the development and execution of reliability strategies that meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Reliability Engineer Lead at arenaflex, you will assume ownership of reliability programs and drive excellence throughout the product lifecycle. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Lead Requirements and Execution: Drive requirements and execution of products, processes, and package capability, including reliability stress test conditions and protocols from setup stage to volume production perfection.
- Design for Reliability: Drive and review Plan for Reliability and Plan for Test to ensure stress margin and testability are optimized for all product configurations.
- Qualification Leadership: Lead all aspects of qualification activities including, but not limited to, corner lot material, HAST/THB, unbiased HAST, waveform, electrical bias, thermal cycling, and lifetime assessment.
- Process Implementation: Execute POR (Process of Record) of process flows, artwork standards, and monitor product performance throughout the development cycle.
- First Article Inspection: Perform FAI (First Article Inspection) to ensure critical parameters are characterized before design, pre-production, and production release for product release.
- Failure Analysis: Drive investigation and resolution of qualification failures and product/process non-conformance including MRB, RMA events through methods such as FA, 8D, and comprehensive reporting.
- Change Management: Support PCN (Product Change Notification) and ECN (Engineering Change Notification) activities to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Supplier Management: Lead supplier audits and assessments as required to ensure compliance with our rigorous quality standards.
- Statistical Analysis: Conduct yield analysis and correlation studies for all levels of testing including Pareto construction, statistical insights, and trend identification.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive and guide suppliers for continuous improvement initiatives based on performance metrics and quality indicators.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and collaborative skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, quality engineering, or product engineering roles.
- Semiconductor Expertise: Proven experience in semiconductor design or manufacturing with a focus on reliability and quality assurance from globally recognized organizations.
- Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of JEDEC reliability and quality standards, ISO quality management systems, and the underlying scientific principles.
- Technical Depth: Understanding of silicon product-level reliability characterization and lifetime prediction modeling.
- Failure Analysis: Experience with reliability testing methodologies for silicon and packaging technologies, including failure mechanisms and analysis techniques.
- Hardware Testing: Related knowledge describing hardware systems and environmental testing, including temperature, humidity, ESD, latch-up, and various other test methodologies.
- Supplier Assessment: Demonstrated experience in supplier qualification of components, materials, and processes.
- Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience driving suppliers in silicon fabrication, packaging, assembly, test, ongoing reliability monitoring, and post-production quality.
- Process Management: Familiarity with process flows, qualifications, and managing supplier performance including process Cpk, yield, capacity reporting, and other key metrics.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support supplier audits, qualifications, and cross-functional meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
While the following qualifications are not required, they would significantly enhance your candidacy:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Experience with advanced packaging technologies (2.5D, 3D packaging, chiplets)
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in reliability engineering and predictive maintenance
- Experience with automotive or aerospace reliability standards (AEC-Q100, MIL-PRF)
- Six Sigma or similar quality certification
- Experience working with foundry partners and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) companies
