About the Transportation Operations Center (TOC)
The Transportation Operations Center at arenaflex is more than just a control room – it's the heartbeat of our entire logistics ecosystem. Our team ensures that every shipment moves efficiently from point A to point B, whether it's coming from sellers and transporters to our fulfillment centers or departing from our facilities to reach customers' doorsteps.
Beyond day-to-day operations, our TOC is charged with identifying trends in network exceptions and automating processes or proposing strategic process improvements to streamline operations. This involves continuous network monitoring and rigorous data analysis to drive innovation and efficiency across the organization. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Transportation Operations Specialist at arenaflex, you'll work at the intersection of information flow, problem-solving, and customer experience. You'll collaborate with various partners, including transporters, fulfillment centers, and warehouses, to resolve any issues that could impact delivery timelines or customer satisfaction.
Our specialists work across two critical verticals:
Inbound Operations
- Manage relationships between sellers, transporters, and fulfillment centers to ensure cargo is picked up on time and delivered according to schedule
- Resolve any potential issues occurring during the lifecycle of pickup to delivery
- Coordinate with internal teams to track shipment status and proactively address delays
- Ensure accurate documentation and data entry for all inbound shipments
Outbound Operations
- Oversee the relationship between fulfillment centers, transporters, and carrier hubs to ensure timely delivery of customer orders
- Resolve any issues that arise during the journey from fulfillment center to customer premises
- Monitor delivery performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Collaborate with last-mile delivery partners to optimize routing and delivery windows
Additional responsibilities include:
- Communicating professionally with external clients (transporters, sellers, and providers) and internal stakeholders (retail, finance, software support, and fulfillment centers)
- Pulling data from various databases using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data management systems to perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Creating and understanding performance metrics to help drive business results and identify improvement opportunities
- Checking business and functional requirements for arenaflex technology teams who develop and enhance software systems and tools used by the TOC
- Analyzing business impact of emerging trends and making data-driven decisions
- Methodically escalating issues or changes in information to relevant owners and teams, ensuring timely resolution and delivery
- Working within strict timelines to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying performed activities
- Creating comprehensive weekly reports detailing findings and variances against goals, presenting these insights in review discussions
- Delivering real-time customer experience by working in our 24/7 operational environment
What We're Looking For: Basic Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid foundation in logistics, operations, or a related field. We're looking for candidates who bring:
- A bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, or logistics management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation
- Experience with SQL for database querying and data extraction
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to craft narratives around weekly findings and present insights effectively
- The ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift environment
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues before they escalate
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
