The role involves participating in the development and implementation of tax technology strategies and collaborating with tax experts to enhance technology solutions within the tax department.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of a tax technology strategy/roadmap to automate, streamline, and standardize the firm’s tax operations
- Involvement in developing low to no code technology solutions for the tax department
- Collaborate with Tax Subject Matter Experts to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain tools and templates leveraged by engagement teams
- Work closely with individuals across the tax department to understand their needs and help develop technology solutions
- Apply educational background and experience to collaborate with engagement teams on the utilization of technology tools, including internally developed and 3rd party vendor solutions
- Gain an understanding of the firm's technology stack and usage, along with tax processes
- Analyzing technology vendors and their products to help the tax department make informed investment decisions
- Participating in strategic research projects on advanced technology
- Assist with deployment efforts such as change management and training
- Utilize basic project and process management skills to effectively manage responsibilities associated with multiple complex projects at once
- Bring opportunities for improvement on product development that is in line with the firm’s growth initiatives in tax
- Bring an innovative, outside the box mindset to projects
- Networking to build relationships within the firm as well as outside the firm
- Contributes to establishing internal standards and processes for the practice
Skills
- Meticulous with problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree or above in accounting, tax, accounting information systems, data analytics, or related field
- Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
- Must be pursuing a CPA license
- Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, APIs, and SQL preferred
