ANALYST I

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of the largest State departments in California, seeking a Spanish Bilingual Analyst I to join the Benefit Accuracy Measurement Unit. The analyst will conduct thorough investigations of Unemployment Insurance claims, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while protecting the integrity of the UI Trust Fund.

Responsibilities

• Perform an in-depth, thorough investigation of Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims
• Work closely with the unit manager or journey-level BAM analyst conducting accurate reviews of selected BAM cases
• Assess the accuracy and conformity to the Department's UI program and other policy and procedures
• Analyze state and federal laws and regulations to ensure the State continues to administer the UI program effectively and efficiently
• Conduct interviews with employers, claimants, and field office staff for the purpose of determining compliance under the provisions of the California Unemployment Insurance Code

Skills

• Fluency in the Spanish language
• Ability to pass a bilingual - Spanish fluency examination
• UI or comparable program knowledge and experience
• Extensive UI or comparable experience in conducting eligibility determinations
