Business Development Trainee

Harford Mutual Insurance Group is a growing, dynamic mutual insurance carrier providing commercial property and casualty insurance products and services to a regional market. This position is a development position for the Business Development Specialist role, involving a structured training program on commercial insurance, agency engagement, and territory management.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the structured underwriting training program
• Review and process endorsement requests and correspondence within established authority level
• Learn the Agency Engagement function through training
• Prepare for and participate in Agency Visits, Agency Outings, and Industry Events

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in business related field, or equivalent education
• 0-1 years industry experience
• Willingness to travel up to 25% throughout our writing footprint
• Ability to operate a company vehicle and maintain an acceptable driving record
• Required to relocate to a business development territory (PA, NJ) after completion of training
• Participation in insurance industry course work preferred (AU, CIC, etc.)
