About the Direct Channel Strategy and Activation Team

The Direct Channel Strategy and Activation (DCS&A) team at arenaflex is dedicated to delivering powerful customer experiences across all engagement touchpoints. We apply strategy, data, and innovative tools to bring marketing campaigns to life in meaningful ways. Our team leads direct channel strategy and consumer data selection for one-to-one marketing campaigns, and we handle the deployment of direct channel initiatives. We accomplish these goals through collaboration with internal organizations, as well as external vendors and software/data providers.

This team is the engine behind our personalized marketing efforts, ensuring that every customer interaction is relevant, timely, and impactful. We pride ourselves on our ability to turn complex data into compelling stories that resonate with audiences and drive business results.

What You'll Do

As a Customer Engagement Manager II in the DCS&A team, you will be responsible for driving the everyday management and execution of direct channel campaigns. You will be recognized as a subject matter expert in the tools and data our team uses for activation, and you'll provide guidance and support to other team members. Your role involves leading partner meetings related to campaign activations for your lines of business, and you'll report directly to the DCS&A Partner Director.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the everyday management and execution of direct channel campaigns, ensuring all initiatives are delivered on time and meet quality standards

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the tools and data that DCS&A uses for campaign activation, providing technical guidance to team members

  • Build and configure highly complex marketing streams using multiple direct channels including email, SMS, push notifications, and more

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners directly related to campaign activations

  • Perform quality assurance testing of campaigns as needed, ensuring everything runs smoothly

  • Monitor all campaigns to ensure they execute properly and proactively inform partners of any issues

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues to completion

  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, helping them grow their skills

  • Develop comprehensive documentation of team tools and processes to support onboarding and training

  • Implement channel strategies that drive campaign and channel best practices and optimizations

  • Participate in and lead special projects beyond standard campaign activation work

  • Create compelling narratives from technical details and data insights for non-technical marketing partners

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and has a proven track record of success in direct channel marketing and data analysis. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 2+ years of direct experience in SQL analyzing large datasets, performing selects, joins, investigating data issues, and validating audience segmentation

  • 5+ years of direct experience in campaign list selection processes and campaign deployment capabilities

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of complex data environments, social database methodology, structures, and querying

  • Experience interpreting technical details and data insights into compelling stories and campaign visions for non-technical marketing partners

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with demonstrated influence, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working in large organizations and navigating ambiguity while maintaining clear decision-making

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues in a clear, accessible manner

  • Strong ability to work independently, identifying and discovering efficiencies that can be applied across the team

  • Leadership capability to mentor and support more junior team members

  • Strategic mindset that allows application of relevant direct channel strategies to all work

  • Strong attention to detail with a solid Customer Acceptance Testing and quality assurance mindset

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with Adobe Campaign Classic and Adobe Campaign Standard

  • Experience building complex marketing streams using multiple direct channels

  • Direct experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for campaign deployment of emails

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices

  • Understanding of customer journey mapping and personalization strategies

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position with standard work hours of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
