Position Overview: Member Service Representative
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to fill the role of Member Service Representative within our Medicaid health plan division. In this position, you will provide exceptional telephone assistance to our Medicaid members and health care providers. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver outstanding customer service that exceeds expectations, ensuring that every caller feels heard, valued, and satisfied with the resolution they receive.
This is a remote position that allows you to work from the comfort of your own home, provided you meet our technical requirements. You must reside within 50 miles of Charleston, West Virginia, to be eligible for this role. The position requires a commitment to excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced call center environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Member Service Representative at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in our member experience. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Answering incoming calls from Medicaid members and health care providers in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner
- Responding to inquiries regarding member benefits, eligibility status, and coverage details
- Assisting members with provider changes, including locating in-network physicians and specialists
- Processing requests for member ID cards and ensuring timely delivery
- Explaining prior authorization requirements and guiding members through the authorization process
- Providing information about extra benefits and wellness programs available to members
- Documenting all interactions accurately in our customer relationship management system
- Identifying opportunities to educate members about preventive care and health resources
- Escalating complex issues to supervisory staff when necessary while providing first-call resolution whenever possible
- Meeting or exceeding performance standards for call quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity
Technical Requirements
To ensure a successful remote work experience, all team members must meet the following technical specifications:
- High-speed internet connectivity with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 5 Mbps
- Secure, wired ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not permitted for security reasons)
- A dedicated, quiet workspace free from distractions during work hours
- Ability to commute to our Charleston, WV office location when unable to work from home due to prolonged technical issues or system outages
- All necessary equipment, including a computer, headset, and phone, will be provided by arenaflex
Training and Schedule
arenaflex is committed to setting you up for success from day one. All new Member Service Representatives undergo a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in your role.
- Training Period: The first six weeks of employment will consist of intensive training
- Training Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday
- Production Schedule: Once training is complete, your regular schedule will be 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday
- Work Environment: This position primarily operates in a work-from-home capacity, with periodic in-office requirements as business needs dictate
During training, you will learn about our health plans, policies, procedures, and customer service best practices. Our dedicated training team will support you every step of the way, ensuring you feel confident and prepared to handle member inquiries with expertise and empathy.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must reside within 50 miles of Charleston, WV
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
- Strong active listening skills to understand member needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Capacity to meet performance standards, attendance requirements, and call quality goals
- Self-sufficiency and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will help you stand out as an ideal candidate:
- Previous experience working remotely in a call center or customer service setting
- Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare programs and terminology
- Previous experience in the health care insurance industry

Compensation and Benefits
arenaflex offers a competitive compensation package that recognizes your skills and experience. The pay range for this position is $17.00 to $25.15 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic factors.
