Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with significant responsibilities that directly impact our product development and business strategies. Your day-to-day work will involve:

• Quantitative Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to generate business and product recommendations, including cost-benefit analysis, investment strips, forecasting, and impact analysis. You will use statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within our user data.


• Stakeholder Communication: Deliver compelling presentations of your findings and recommendations to various levels of stakeholders, from technical teams to executive leadership. You will create visually engaging presentations of quantitative information that make complex data accessible and actionable.


• Reporting and Dashboard Development: Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and model dashboards to provide insights at scale. You will solve for analytical requirements and ensure that stakeholders have access to real-time data and metrics.


• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners to understand their business needs. You will design and execute analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled predictions, and presentations.


• Strategic Decision Support: Assist arenaflex in focusing on key decisions to improve products and services. Your insights will directly influence product roadmap, feature development, and user experience improvements.


• Data Storytelling: Weave compelling narratives with meaningful insights from data. You will translate technical findings into business recommendations that drive action.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Educational Background: Currently pursuing or holding a graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences, or a related discipline. Strong academic performance in quantitative subjects is essential.


• Statistical Programming: Experience working with statistical packages such as R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, or similar tools. You should be comfortable with data manipulation, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.


• SQL and Data Extraction: Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets using SQL, and using analytics to arrive at meaningful answers. You should be proficient in writing complex queries and understanding database structures.

• Academic Status: Currently attending a graduate program in the USA and available to work full-time for several months beyond college term time. Candidates in their penultimate academic year or returning to a graduate program after completion of an internship are preferred.


• Business Translation: Ability to translate analysis results into actionable business suggestions that drive product strategy and improve user experience.


• Domain Expertise: Interest and ability to work with data, statistics, analysis, and trends, with applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and program evaluation.
