Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic-minded professional to fill the role of Director, Healthcare Data Management at arenaflex. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to drive data adaptation initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our healthcare data operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare data management, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering impactful data solutions within the pharmaceutical, payer, or healthcare provider sectors.

This is a full-time position based in Illinois, USA, with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to ensure the successful execution of data management strategies that support arenaflex's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Healthcare Data Management at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy and ensuring the effective management of healthcare data across the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across various departments, including Pharmacy, Retail, Field Operations, and Specialty Pharmacy, to enhance existing data adaptation products and drive innovation in data management processes.

  • Process Improvement: Establish and maintain continuous improvement of data management and governance processes across the enterprise, partnering with multiple business lines to strengthen data adaptation products and ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Business Analysis: Provide the Retail Strategy team with contract management processes and analysis to ensure execution and management of business terms, including core analysis related to manufacturer service agreements.

  • Client Relationship Management: Support business relationships with existing and new data product and services clients by serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaborating with internal teams including Information Technology.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Participate in or contribute to regulatory or contractual audits with data analysis as a Subject Matter Expert, ensuring all data practices meet regulatory requirements.

  • Proposal Development: Participate in Request for Proposal (RFP) responses and Statements of Work (SOW) for new contracts as a Subject Matter Expert, helping to secure new business opportunities.

  • Matrix Leadership: Work in a matrix environment to share accountability for manufacturer relationships with Purchasing, Public Records Management, and Specialty Pharmacy teams, addressing data adaptation and related contractual requirements.

  • P&L Management: Effectively manage channel entry business and profitability, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining quality standards.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships while communicating arenaflex needs regarding pharmaceuticals, trade, specialty, program/product development, account management, and clinical services.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional advocacy across arenaflex to create awareness and synergies, including Pharmacy Services, Store Operations, and Specialty departments.

  • Business Development Support: Support new business development by providing project plans and process details to create proposals for new services as well as reporting/analytical capabilities.

  • Data Governance: Advise on various data adaptation initiatives and drives (current or future) to ensure that any data-related changes and requirements are identified, communicated, documented, and understood to ensure adherence with organizational requirements and Enterprise Data Management standards.

  • Team Development: Coach, mentor, and develop employees through guidance, training, and performance management programs to build employee confidence, motivation, and loyalty.

  • Product Delivery: Lead delivery and support of current and new Analytics products in partnership with external vendors to provide data and insights to Pharma, Payer, and Health System partners.

  • IT Partnership: Define and partner closely with the IT team to develop and monitor metrics that impact current organizational data delivery services and analytics products.

  • Policy Compliance: Work within organizational guidelines concerning policies, programs, procedures, budgets, and applicable laws. Ensure the development and execution of approved manufacturer partner services are consistent with overall strategy.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in healthcare data management are preferred.

  • Project Management Experience: Proven experience in project management, including planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve specific project goals and objectives within budget and established timelines.

  • Strategic Planning: Experience collaborating with both internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department and company goals within budget and established timelines.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Experience in identifying management or operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve issues effectively.

  • Specialty Pharmacy Expertise: Experience in program administration and analysis of manufacturer programs for Specialty Pharmacy services.

  • Financial Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace, with a strong understanding of P&L management and budget oversight.

  • Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire teams.

  • Travel Capability: Ability to travel up to at least 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will give candidates a competitive edge:


  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.

  • Certifications in healthcare data management, analytics, or project management (e.g., CHDA, PMP, Six Sigma).

  • Experience working with large healthcare datasets and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, FDA guidelines, and industry standards.

  • Experience in managed care, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or healthcare consulting environments.

  • Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives within healthcare organizations.

Compensation and Benefits
