The Role: Client General Manager – Media & Entertainment

As a Client General Manager at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for understanding the intricate needs of entertainment travel, from coordinating logistics for film crews shooting on location to managing the complex schedules of sports teams and news broadcasters. You'll act as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities for improvement, driving innovation, and ensuring that every traveler experiences the arenaflex difference.
This position is based in the US or Canada and operates as a fully remote/virtual role. However, we do require our Client General Managers to maintain East Coast business hours to ensure seamless communication with our clients and internal teams. Additionally, this role requires travel approximately 25-30% of the time to client sites, industry events, and internal meetings.

- Strategic Client Partnership: Develop and maintain deep, trusted relationships with key stakeholders across your assigned accounts. You will possess an in-depth understanding of your clients' strategic objectives, key drivers of success, organizational culture, and business goals. Your insights will shape the way we serve them.
- Consultative Guidance: Provide expert guidance to customers in assessing their travel program goals and strategies. You'll help them optimize performance across their entire program, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and enhanced traveler experiences.
- Entertainment Travel Expertise: Become the go-to subject matter expert for the unique travel needs of news organizations, sports teams, film and television production companies, music touring acts, and theatrical productions. You'll develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity and improve the traveler experience during service fulfillment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish strategic partnerships with key business constituents across arenaflex, including Global Business Consulting, Client Services, Service Delivery, Implementations, Meetings & Events, and Global Client Growth Directors. Your ability to navigate our organization will be critical to delivering exceptional results.
- Relationship Building: Build a comprehensive web of influence at all levels within client organizations and among affiliate studios working with your clients on specific productions. Your networking skills will open doors and create opportunities that benefit both parties.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of entertainment travel trends, evolving requirements, and industry developments. You'll research the marketplace and competitor products to highlight the value that distinguishes arenaflex services, using market intelligence, benchmarking, and technology as critical value drivers.
- Strategic Account Planning: Complete comprehensive strategic account plans focused on identifying groundbreaking business opportunities. You'll create customer value, exceed expectations, strengthen relationships, drive savings, increase retention, and optimize performance through rigorous process and data analysis.
- Value Proposition Enhancement: Lead the improvement of the arenaflex value proposition through consultation, technology road mapping, and optimizing online servicing solutions. You'll represent arenaflex to Media and Entertainment prospects as a subject matter expert.
- Business Planning & Financial Management: Lead business planning, quarterly and annual reviews, regional pricing strategies, and ongoing Profit & Loss (P&L) management for your accounts. Your strong financial acumen will be essential to driving profitability and demonstrating ROI to clients.
- Product Knowledge: Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn, understand, and articulate key product and value proposition knowledge in a variety of contexts. You'll be the voice of arenaflex to our most important clients.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- Passion and excitement for the unique needs of entertainment clients—you must genuinely love the Media and Entertainment industry and understand its fast-paced, high-stakes nature.
- Proven success and demonstrable positive results in global account/client management and/or Project Management experience.
- Direct experience with or deep knowledge of Media and Entertainment Travel—you should understand the nuances of production schedules, location shoots, tour routing, and event logistics.
- Proven success in upselling products, services, and solutions that increase client revenue and profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement growth strategies, build action plans, and set measurable goals.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and strong decision-making skills, with the capacity to prioritize effectively and plan meticulously.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, including the ability to handle objections and achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain comprehensive networks, both internally and externally, to successfully navigate through client organizations.
- Sophisticated communication and presentation skills—you'll be presenting to C-suite executives and industry leaders.
- Strong financial acumen required to leverage the key drivers of profitability.
- Strong business acumen to communicate the arenaflex value proposition effectively.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Travel Operations knowledge is required—you should understand the mechanics of booking, ticketing, and travel management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Business Travel Service Delivery and Client Management.
- Solid understanding of Business Travel Service Delivery technology, tools, and processes.
- Advanced software skills (MS Office) required.
- A genuine love of travel, entertainment, and continuous learning.
- A reputation for trust, integrity, and getting things done—you'll be representing arenaflex at the highest levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous large market, multinational client, or global experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Global Business Travel marketplace.
- Experience working with clients in the Production, News, Sports, Music, and Theatricals business segments.
