  • *Key Responsibilities**

As a Customer Service Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Answering phones in a timely, positive, and welcoming manner
  • Greeting, welcoming, and registering patients in a timely fashion, working to minimize wait times
  • Managing incoming phone calls, emails, messages, verification of benefits, and referrals to completion
  • Preparing for upcoming visits, including reviewing next day activities, visit reminders, document preparations, form completion, and chart flags
  • Performing appointing functions with accuracy and per patient or provider request, such as scheduling appointments, managing cancellations, re-schedules, visit cycles, and wait lists
  • Identifying patient's age-specific and information or communication needs prior to visit
  • Maintaining medical records with timely input of incoming scans, documents, or test results
  • Other duties as assigned
  • *Essential Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a receptionist, preferably in a medical practice or ambulatory environment
  • Positive interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work with an Electronic Medical Record, Practice Management system, Scheduling system, and other related E-Systems
  • *Preferred Qualifications**

While not required, it's highly desirable if you have:

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and strong computer skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (or other secondary language)
  • *Work Environment and Physical Requirements**

As a Customer Service Specialist, you'll work in a fast-paced medical office environment that may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards, or toxic substances. Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
