About the Role: Family Support Specialist
As a Family Support Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to strengthen families and ensure positive outcomes for children. You will work closely with families who have found permanency through various pathways, providing them with the tools, resources, and advocacy they need to succeed.
This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a hybrid remote environment, giving you the flexibility to balance your professional responsibilities with your personal life. Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Family Support Specialist will include:
- Resource Connection: Identify, research, and connect families with appropriate community resources, including healthcare services, educational programs, housing assistance, financial counseling, and mental health support.
- Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of families and children within community systems, ensuring they receive the services and support they deserve.
- Family Empowerment: Guide families in developing the skills and confidence needed to independently navigate resource systems and sustain their achievements long-term.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of family interactions, service plans, and outcomes in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, school personnel, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive support services.
- Crisis Support: Respond to family emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed, connecting families with immediate resources and stabilization support.
- Home Visits: Conduct in-person home visits (with appropriate mileage reimbursement) to assess family needs, provide support, and ensure child safety and well-being.
- Education: Provide families with educational materials, workshops, and resources that enhance parenting skills, financial literacy, and household management.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training, professional development opportunities, and team meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge in child welfare and family support.

Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Transportation: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as this role requires travel to client homes and community locations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse families and professionals.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and concern for the well-being of children and families experiencing challenges.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving abilities and the capacity to navigate complex family situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using technology for documentation, communication, and resource research.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in child welfare, family support, or related human services fields.

Compensation
We value your contributions and are committed to providing competitive compensation. The average hourly rate for this position is $19.06, which includes base wages, incentives, bonuses, overtime, and any applicable shift differentials. This compensation reflects our commitment to fair pay while you grow in your role.
