Our Information and Investigation group for arenaflex Web-based features (DSS), a section under the arenaflex Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET), is searching for a Lead Data Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Data Engineer to lead the development and implementation of our data items and data warehouses around Commitment and Maintenance Examination and Information Science. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Large Data conditions (cloud, on-prem, hybrid), and collaborating with Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to deliver successful data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Add to the plan and development of our data items and data warehouses around Commitment and Maintenance Examination and Information Science.


• Plan and develop versatile data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Large Data conditions (cloud, on-prem, hybrid).


• Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops.


• Collaborate with Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions.


• Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data administration.


• Guarantee high functional productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligation to our clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups).


• Be a proactive member and supporter of agile/scrum practice to ensure well-being and cycle enhancements for your team.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets.
• Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala.
• Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query).
• Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and composing and maintaining data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Data Modeling strategies and Data Warehousing standard systems and practices.
• Experience with Scrum and Agile approaches.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:

• Experience with Cloud advances like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2).


• Strong knowledge of Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.


• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.


• Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations.
