Our Data Science + Mix (DDSI) association is responsible for supporting clients across the organization, including the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division, which encompasses Parks and Resorts, both domestic and international, Consumer Products, and Disney Interactive Experiences, as well as the Disney Media section, which includes Studios Content (Disney Theatrical Productions), General Entertainment Content, and ESPN and Sports Content.

  • *Job Summary**

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team, responsible for designing and developing data pipelines that support our Media business. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with our Choice Science, Client, and Innovation colleagues on various projects, including data pipeline development, sustainment, and research initiatives. Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining data pipelines, data sets, and data visualization strategies that drive business insights and decision-making.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Design and develop data pipelines using ETL/ELT technologies, including SQL (Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Python, Docker, and GitLab
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, plan data pipelines, and execute data visualization strategies
  • Develop and maintain data sets, including data blueprint/tables/views, and deliver datasets as input to science models and visualizations
  • Work with large datasets and cloud-based technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Develop and maintain automated workflow schedulers to ensure data pipeline efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with our Choice Science team to develop and maintain data visualization strategies and dashboards
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend new approaches and tools to improve data pipeline efficiency and effectiveness
  • *Requirements**
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
  • Strong experience with Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS
  • Experience with source control tools, such as GitLab or GitHub
  • Experience with Docker and containerization
  • Strong understanding of data set design and architecture
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing and business intelligence platforms
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
