What You'll Do

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at arenaflex, you'll be at the forefront of community healthcare delivery, providing comprehensive primary care services that make a real difference in people's lives. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Care Delivery: Provide holistic primary care that includes thorough assessment, accurate diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Deliver health counseling and anticipatory guidance tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform diagnostic tests to support diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses. Administer vaccinations and injections, including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, tuberculosis, and Depo-Provera injections. Provide evidence-based patient and parent vaccination education and counseling.
  • Patient Education and Wellness Promotion: Interview patients about healthy lifestyle choices and encourage them to become active participants in their healthcare and wellbeing. Provide services including health screenings, social health resources, and chronic condition management programs.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to maintain comprehensive care plans for patients. Coordinate with specialists, primary care providers, and other members of the healthcare continuum to ensure continuity of care.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Handle various administrative duties including opening and closing the clinic, managing inventory, monitoring patient flow, verifying insurance, and collecting payments. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming clinic environment.
  • Patient Scheduling and Triage: Manage patient appointments and perform triage assessments to ensure positive patient health outcomes and appropriate care prioritization.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Graduate degree-level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role. Alternatively, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or other health-related graduate degree or comparable experience along with a Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies) with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum two years of clinically relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including the ability to perform CPR and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Must be able to pass a FIT test and wear provided respirator covering when protocol requires.
  • Clinical Competencies: Ability to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of medical issues, health counseling, and anticipatory guidance. This includes education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, and safer sex practices.
  • Language Skills: Depending on market requirements, ability to be proficient in both speaking and writing in additional languages, with Spanish being particularly valuable in many of our communities.
  • Additional Requirements: Complete required competency verification testing within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:


  • Previous student precepting experience with arenaflex or similar retail health clinic setting (preferred for those with less than one year of work experience as a licensed provider)

  • Demonstrated experience in fast-paced clinical environments with high patient volume

  • Background in chronic disease management and preventive care

  • Experience with electronic health records and healthcare technology systems

  • Community health or public health experience
