Position Overview

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join arenaflex as Pharmacy Technicians or Pharmacy Technician Apprentices. In this role, you'll be the front and center of our pharmacy operations—interacting with customers, answering questions, and developing strong patient relationships. Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring excellent patient care. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Patient Interaction: Greet customers and patients warmly, providing assistance with pharmacy services and products. Engage with patients to understand their needs and offer personalized support.

  • Prescription Processing: Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, accurately process prescriptions, and ensure all information is entered correctly into our database.

  • Medication Preparation: Retrieve, count, and pour pharmaceutical tablets; verify medication accuracy; and check for possible drug interactions under the pharmacist's supervision.

  • Quality Assurance: Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately and adhere to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs.

  • Compliance: Follow all state, federal, and company policies regarding pharmacy operations, including the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct and good faith dispensing requirements.

  • Cash Handling: Register all related income on assigned cash registers, collect and handle cash as required, and ensure accurate financial transactions.

  • Customer Service: Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience. Model excellent customer service practices for all team members.

  • Inventory Management: Assist with pharmacy stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing prescription drug shipments. Maintain awareness of company asset protection techniques.

  • Documentation: Document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods related to prescription medications.

  • Clerical Duties: Handle telephone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians. Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Support Services: May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required.

  • Community Relationships: Assist Pharmacy Managers and Staff Pharmacists in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

  • Store Maintenance: Assist with indoor and outdoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with adequate supplies and remains clean, neat, and orderly.

  • Professional Development: Complete all required training, maintain PTCB certification, and stay current with healthcare and pharmacy knowledge, including latest information and developments.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Qualifications


  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and weighing medications

  • Good computer skills for pharmacy system operation

Preferred Qualifications


  • Six months or more of experience in a retail environment

  • Previous work experience in a pharmacy setting

  • Strong math skills for accurately filling prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Knowledge of store inventory control procedures

  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or willingness to obtain certification

  • Previous experience with pharmacy management systems

  • Familiarity with insurance billing and claims processing

  • Certification Support: Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our comprehensive training program and/or state-required certification/registration. Those who earn PTCB certification may assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy cash registers.

  • Continuing Education: Attend training and complete required learning modules requested by your manager. Acquire continuing education credits to maintain certification and stay current with industry developments.

  • College Credits: Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, you may qualify for 8 (eight) university credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). This coursework is recommended for 3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category and 5 semester hours in the upper-division baccalaureate degree category for a total of 8 semester hours.
