If you're passionate about leading technical initiatives, collaborating across teams, and solving complex problems at scale, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity to become part of the arenaflex family.
About the Role
As a Technical Program Manager at arenaflex, you'll leverage your technical expertise to lead critical infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners to define requirements, identify risks, manage project timelines, and communicate clearly with stakeholders across the organization. This role offers a unique blend of technical depth and leadership responsibilities, requiring you to be equally comfortable discussing architectural tradeoffs with developers as you are presenting strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
You'll be joining our Global Infrastructure team, specifically focused on managing our worldwide fleet of Third-Party Data Centers (3PDC). This is a high-impact area where your work will directly influence the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our global operations. You'll be responsible for driving process improvements, analyzing complex datasets, and delivering insights that shape strategic decisions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will span multiple domains, requiring you to balance technical depth with exceptional program management skills. Here's what you can expect:
- Lead cross-functional initiatives: Collaborate with a team of Engineers and Planners to address challenges related to our global Third-Party Data Center (3PDC) fleet, ensuring operational excellence and strategic alignment.
- Drive business intelligence: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, then design and execute end-to-end analysis that encompasses data gathering, thorough analysis, ongoing scaled forecasting, and compelling presentations.
- Automate and scale: Plan and automate key metrics, iteratively building and prototyping dashboards to provide actionable insights at scale across the organization.
- Process optimization: Lead process improvement initiatives through rigorous data analysis, visualization, and strategic business recommendations based on 3PDC data, identifying and acting on opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder management: Identify, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams to drive impact and work toward shared organizational objectives.
- Risk management: Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate effectively with all relevant parties.
- Strategic planning: Work with partners to plan requirements, establish project roadmaps, and ensure clear communication of progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation of experience and skills:
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Industry experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in program management, with a focus on technical or infrastructure-related projects.
- Technical proficiency: Experience in financial modeling and analysis, utilizing spreadsheets and manipulating large datasets using SQL or similar query languages.
- Analytical capabilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Leadership experience: At least 3 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, demonstrating your ability to coordinate efforts across diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications
If you have these additional experiences, you'll be especially well-suited for this role:
- 3+ years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects spanning diverse stakeholder groups, both technical and non-technical.
- 3+ years of experience in technical program or project management roles within infrastructure, data centers, or cloud operations.
- Demonstrated experience identifying, engaging, and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple teams to drive meaningful impact and achieve shared goals.
- Exceptional analytical, data visualization, and critical thinking abilities, with a track record of using data to inform strategic decisions.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and understanding of data center architecture, networking, and infrastructure operations.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or PRINCE2.
Skills and Competencies
Success in this role requires a unique combination of technical acumen, leadership abilities, and interpersonal skills:
- Technical literacy: You should be comfortable reading and understanding technical documentation, discussing architectural decisions with engineers, and evaluating tradeoffs in technical implementations.
- Strategic thinking: The ability to see the big picture while managing detailed execution is crucial. You'll need to align day-to-day activities with broader organizational objectives.
- Problem-solving: Complex challenges will arise regularly. You must be able to break down problems into manageable components and develop effective solutions.
- Influence and leadership: Without direct managerial authority, you'll need to inspire and influence cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Adaptability: The technology landscape evolves rapidly. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot when requirements change.
- Data-driven decision making: Strong comfort with quantitative analysis, statistical concepts, and data visualization tools is essential.
- Executive presence: You'll regularly present to senior leadership, so the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively is vital.
